Cat fights my cat seems to have had his ear bitten

My cat is a little bit of a fighter. He has come home with what seems like a bite or a scratch on his ear, there is dry blood on the inside of his ear, and the smell is terrible. There doesn't seem to be a change in his behaviour or his eating habits but I'm very worried about him. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

The biggest concern to me is the smell you mention. That sounds like an infection and needs the attention of a veterinarian who will examine him and probably clean the wound and prescribe antiibiotics.
