Growth on my cat's nose bridge

by Alex
(Ft Lauderdale, FL)

Hello,

My cat has started a growth on the bridge of his nose and now its very big and soft as if it has liquid inside. Before this, he stopped eating completely and started to lose weight. He stopped coming home for 2 days at a time, and he lost a lot of weight and is very weak even to walk. I started to force feed him for 2 weeks now and today he started to vomit his food. He is 14 years old, and I really don't have any money to take him to the vet. Any suggestion on what the problem might be?

Thank You.

Dear Alex,

With all of the symptoms you have described, it is cruel to not bring your cat to a veterinarian, even if just to have him humanely euthanized. While I understand having financial constraints, your cat's condition sounds quite serious, and he is suffering.

For financial help, you may want to contact veterinarians in your area to see if they can offer payment plans or treatments at reduced rates, or perhaps apply for a payment plan by CareCredit that will allow you to pay off veterinary and medical expenses at low or no interest over time. However, your cat being seen by a veterinarian should not be prolonged.

Your cat needs to be brought to a veterinarian immediately. I realize that making the decision to euthanize if you can't afford to treat him will be difficult, but your kitty doesn't deserve to suffer.

Regards,
Dr. Neely
