I cut my Persian cat's skin
I’m so sorry that I had cut the skin of my Persian cat (11 months old) while I was trying to remove the matts. I wonder whether the fur will grow back or not. Please suggest.
As it seems you've learned the hard way, one should never try to remove matts with scissors. If you would like to try to remove matts at home instead of bringing your kitty to a groomer, the best way to do so is with pet clippers that can be purchased at a pet store. Even when using clippers, however, extreme caution needs to be used because matts can grow very close to the skin.
Your cat’s fur will grow back in time. However, if there is scar tissue where her skin was cut, hair may not re-grow in that area. The fur around any scarred area may grow in thickly enough to cover it, though.
