Kitty changes fur color

by Karen
(Philippines)

Hi, Dr. Neely. Good Day.

I have a 4 month old black/smoke kitty and I just observed that his fur is changing into grayish white from black/smoke and its running all over his body now. I don't even have an idea why.

So my question is, is it possible for kitty to change fur color when they are getting bigger or older? I am worried about my kitty. I love my cat so I hope it is not a serious problem.

Thank you.

Dear Karen,

It is certainly possible for a cat's hair color to change, especially as they are getting bigger and older. Don't worry! Your little 4 month old kitten's change in fur color is no sign of a serious problem.

Best wishes,
Dr. Neely
