My Cat Has An Upset Tummy

QUESTION:

My 10 yr old male cat has not eaten or had anything to drink in the last 3 days. ( That I am aware of.)

The last 2 days he has been sleeping all day and all night. He acts as though he has tummy troubles as he lays around. My cat gets up to change positions to get comfy and then goes back to sleep, or at least tries.

When I touch my cat, he acts as though he is uncomfortable. When I touch a certain area on his tummy, he will open his mouth to voice something and nothing comes out.

I have checked my cat for external sores, bites etc, nothing. I believe it's internal. 2 days ago I took his temp and it was 105. Today, it's normal. He's still not eating or drinking. I'm worried he has a bad hair ball.

ANSWER:

The cat symptoms you describe are not necessarily associated with a hair ball, but even if they are, they are indicative of a very ill cat. I hope you have taken him to the vet by the time you read this. If not, please go right away!
