my cat is limping, and i was wondering how long i should wait to see a vet.

Hello, my cat Learoy is limping around, and I'm just wondering if there is anyway to ease the pain. I can tell he's in pain because if he steps on it his breathing changes and he hisses. There is no blood, no smell or odor between his toes. I think he might of just pulled a muscle, or, if possible, rolled his ankle. I just want to wait a day or two to see if it gets better before I rush him to the vet. But seeing him in pain is breaking my heart. Is there anything I can do? I've been restricting his actions and carrying him around. He's still eating, drinking, and using the litter box. I just can't bear seeing him like this. Please let me know about over the counter meds, anything.
Thank you, Emily and Learoy.
Dear Emily,
Without knowing what is causing his limping, there are no over the counter cat medications I can recommend to help Learoy. Please bring him to a veterinarian for a diagnosis as soon as possible.
