QUESTION
The other day, i was in your office picking up some cat food (from a vet tech who very kindly stayed a little late to make sure i could make it in the snow). The vet tech covering the office and i somehow got onto the topic of really ridiculous cat owners who don't seem to understand basic cat care (like for some symptoms of cat distress, it's just not appropriate to wait around for weeks on end before seeking help Yeesh). Without divulging too much information, i hope the cat was finally able to get the care it needed, despite its owner.
At the end of that conversation, i promised to send an url for a community blog for that lovely vet tech, in the hopes that it might brighten her spirits. So here it is, in case she hasn't already googled it. http://notalwaysright.com/
I will pass this along to the vet tech who helped you. I'm sure she will enjoy it. I certainly did.
It is not only frustrating but painful for us (and the cat, of course) when an ill cat is brought in days, weeks, months, and sometimes over a year later than it needed to seek help. It is probably the most painful part of our day.
Thank you for writing and bringing up this subject. If even a few others seek help earlier than they would have, your letter will not have been in vain.
Thank you,
Dr. Neely
