Persian cat not doing well

I have an older Persian cat that lies in the bathroom day and night and he has been doing this for a couple of weeks now. I notice that he bites at his tail like it really bothers him, his back legs are wobbly when they were not like that before, and when I see him try to lick his rear end, he sometimes goes crazy on the bathroom floor, almost as if he is having a cat seizure.

I don't know what exactly is wrong with him. He was perfectly normal until one day, he jumped on top of a chair and then he just fell down like he couldn't walk on his two back legs and then ran upstairs to the bathroom, and ever since then he has been staying in the bathroom. I also know he licks a certain area on his back excessively, and really bad it seems like and when you touch him on that spot, he will lick it like he is really sensitive to you touching him. Other than that, I am not really sure how to explain. What is wrong with him?

I’m not sure why you didn’t bring your cat to a veterinarian when this happened weeks ago? You need to bring your cat to a veterinarian right away.

Your cat is not acting normally, you witnessed something happen, and he hasn’t been the same since. These are all very clear signs that your cat is clearly not feeling well and something is very wrong. This is a veterinary emergency, and your cat needs to be examined as soon as possible.

Regards,
Dr. Neely
