Hi, my cat is about 1 year old and for the past week or so she has not been wanting to eat and she is losing weight very fast. She does go to the bathroom and urinate every so often.
My cat has also been throwing up a clear liquid, and sometimes she sits by her bowl of food and seems like she wants to eat but it looks like its hard for her to chew or something. And if she does eat, it has to be very small bits an pieces.
We took her to the emergency vet and he said my cat's heart and lungs were fine. He checked her mouth and didn't seem to find anything, but he gave me medicine for her vomiting.
Thank you,
Amy
Dear Amy,
Please take your cat to another veterinarian as soon as you possibly can. There are many more aspects to a cat's body that could be causing your cat's illness symptoms than those you mentioned the other vet examining. Your cat needs a thorough dental exam, in addition to a thorough physical exam, and may need bloodwork and xrays.
It is critical that your cat be seen by a different vet soon. With such severe cat illness symptoms, she may require hospitalization and fluids to rehydrate her while trying to obtain a diagnosis.
Best wishes,
Dr. Neely
