Cat symptoms help

by Monica
(Bronx)

My cat has been throwing up what looks like saliva and has been leaking a clear odorless fluid from her bottom. I also notice that her poop is very watery. What could be wrong with her? This has all started happening last night. She is a female cat about 10 months old.

Dear Monica,

There are many, many possible causes for the cat illness symptoms you described. This could be a toxin, a virus, something she ate, or any number of other possible conditions. I would suggest you bring your young cat to a veterinarian as soon as possible. These symptoms are certainly not normal, and need to be addressed with a physical exam.

All the best,
Dr. Neely
