Dylan died today and we buried him in the garden. My heart is breaking. Dylan, along with my other cats, has been my constant companion for over thirteen years. When I got up this morning he had lost the use of his back legs, I knew before we took him to the vet what the outcome would be.
Animals are loyal friends and they love you unconditionally, unlike humans animals either like you or don't, there is no middle ground. So animal lovers out there will understand how much my heart is breaking. They will understand why I can't stop crying. They will understand how much I will miss him.
I will miss his dash to the bedroom so he can cuddle up with me, I'll miss that long purr as he settles down and the way he gently squeezed my fingers with his paws before he fell asleep. I will miss those little "conversations" we had and the way you would shoot round the house. I'll miss your beautiful eyes and your long soft fur, I'll miss the kink in your tail.
I will love you always and miss you Dylan. You are in my heart and soul, you are my friend.
