Hi Dr. Neely,
My cat Princess Callie is about 12 years old, give or take. She is very healthy and is strictly an indoor cat. Today we discovered she is throwing up after she eats. Her nose is little dry, and she is acting like nothing is wrong with her after she throws up. Is there any insight you can give me to what may be wrong with her? I have been taking care of her since she was a kitten and I was six. I love her like my little furry baby and I am very very worried for her.

There are many causes of vomiting in cats, and I would recommend that you read my page about cat vomiting. If this vomiting just began, you can watch her very carefully to be sure that she remains bright, alert, and active. Considering her age, however, it is very important to jump on treating any signs of illness quickly since she is an older cat. Although it may not be an emergency at the moment, if she continues to vomit, or if you notice any other changes in her behavior, I would recommend bringing your cat to a veterinarian for an examination soon.
