Vomiting in Older Male Cat

I have a 14-year-old male cat that has spent his whole life indoors. Has only had shoots one time before being boarded for a week 10 years ago. Over the past several months, he has been vomiting just liquid about 3 or 4 times per week. Is he just getting old or should I be concerned? Thanks.

Any time a cat starts vomiting or there is any other sudden and significant change in behavior, concern is warranted. Especially considering your cat's age, there are several geriatric diseases that could be causing this new vomiting behavior, including hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, diabetes, and inflammatory bowel, to name a few. Many geriatric diseases can be life-threatening if left untreated, but most are very treatable if caught early. My best recommendation would be to bring your kitty to a veterinarian for an exam as soon as possible.
